  1. Alex is inviting 10 girls and 8 boys!
    MY WORK:
well i know that two times meens that there is 2 more of that thing! so ten i also know that 9 can go into 18 twice. so then you add 9+2=10. and then 10+_=18. and 8 fits in. and that is how i got my answer!!

  2. Lindsey, does "2 times" mean two more...or double the amount? Does 9 + 2 = 10? Keep thinking, you have a good start!

  3. Or now i have a different anwser!
Alex will be inviting 12 girls and 6 boys!
    MY WORK:
so i know now that"2 times" meens double the number! and so that meens i need a number that goes into 18 three times and 6 goes into 18 three times and so to double 6 i need to add 6+6=12 so that is how i got the girls!
How i got the boys is that 6+12=18! and for the boys i dont need to double or subtract anything and that is how i got my anwser!!

  6. Well I now that there is 2x girls and1x boys in 18.so I in my head said there
    Is like 3 groups so 18 divided by 3 is 6.there must be 6 boys so 6 x2 is 12.Also,I have to add the boys.12 girls + 6 boys= 18.

  8. I think she is inviting 12 girls and 6 boys.
    MY WORK:
Well she wanted to invite twice the girls and 18 people were going so if she invited 6 boys there would be 12 girls left.
