when i was heading to the food store i tryed to count every time the wind sheled swiped at one point i lost count and could not remember if it was 47 or 37 so i called it 37. by the time we got to the store it was 68 times. and so then on the ride back i counted them again! by the time i got home it was 61 so i then added them both up and got 129 times the windsheld wiped! so when i got home i went on the computer and now here i am! and yes i did try to count the snow flackes and now i am never doing that again! it make my brain hert! Today my husband and I were putting knobs on our kitchen cabinets and drawers, and I was in charge of measuring to find the exact middle of each drawer. I had to measure top to bottom and side to side and divide each number by two to find the middle. It was very important that I checked my work to be sure I was correct (just like I tell all of you to do!) because if I calculated wrong our kitchen would look silly! Just another example of how math is everywhere!
Another math connection: I went to the Salem Mall over the weekend and bought some eyeshadows. There was a special deal where you could buy 3 for $39.00 and get a free carry case. I inquired how much they were individually (to see if it was a good deal). They cost $13.00 each. I multiplied 13 X 3 mentally and realized that it was the same price (but you got the free case). It was important that I be able to compare the two options to figure out the best deal!
Your blog you put up was pretty cute and funny, Lindsey Length!! On vacation when my family and I went to the American Girl Doll store I only had so much money to spend from all the gift cards I had, so when I was going up and down elevators, looking and picking up items all through the store my mom said that I had to keep track on how much money I was spending. So I was adding and subtracting decimals the whole time!
me and my mom were puting posters up in my room so i measured the leungth of the poster and the wall and then i wanted about 2 inches apart from the other poster! after that i put the posters up and they looked great!! Lindsey Length :)
I was on my computer and i was on itunes looking for music. before i downloaded a song, i did the math: i had $10.00 and subtracted .95 cents. I got $9.05. Kelcie kilometers
on my way to walmart it was raining and drops of water would run down the window and byu the time we go to walmart 52 water droplets slid down the window. Then when we got back into the car and drove home i counted them again and then once we got home i counted 76. So i then added them all up and i got 128. So 128 raindrps slid down the window!!
